On Monday, May 1, 2023, Joseph Dusek was the recipient of the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Illinois', Award for Excellence in Pro Bono and Public Interest Service. He received the award for his work with NDIL's Settlement Assistance Program, for pro bono representation of indigent plaintiffs (primarily incarcerated, Illinois DOC inmates) suing IDOC or a county sheriff's detention centre.
