Dr. Camille R. Quinn PHD '14 awarded a National Institute of Health NIMHD R21 grant

Dr. Camille Quinn was awarded a National Institute of Health NIMHD R21 grant, entitled "Exploring PTSD Symptoms, Barriers and Facilitators to Mindfulness-based Stress Reduction for Justice-Involved Black/African American Female Adolescents and Parents/Caregivers." The aim of the project is to culturally adapt and test a healing mindfulness-based stress reduction (MBSR) intervention with healing centered engagement (HCE) to reduce health and mental health disparities among justice-involved Black/African American female adolescents ages 14-18 and their self-nominated parents/caregivers. They will investigate relationships among PTSD (primary outcome), perceived stress (and cortisol), mindfulness, recidivism, personal agency, racial identity and parent-child relationships (secondary outcomes).
