Ayesha Akhtar, 2010 School of Public Health graduate, worked to help successfully pass new legislation in Illinois that will help thousands of students for generations to come! In July 2020, the Seizure Smart School Act went into effect and requires seizure first aid training for all Illinois public school personnel in K-12. Big win for kids statewide to know that in the event of an emergency, trained school staff can assist as needed. www.epilepsychicago.org
