Virginia Martinez BA'72 started second career as an author of children's books
Virginia Martinez graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Liberal Arts & Sciences in 1975. She is a retired attorney and has begun a second career as an author of children's books. In a series entitled Adventures with Abuela, she relates stories of taking her grandson and family to Chicago parks, zoo's and museums. The bilingual books are designed not only to entertain young children but to also encourage parents, grandparents and caregivers to read to children and to take them to the many wonderful places in the Chicago area. She won the International Latino Book Awards recognition
