Dr. Maureen Hellwig publishes her first book, "A Neighbor Among Neighbors: Erie Neighborhood House, 150 Years As a Home With No Borders."
Dr. Maureen Hellwig, a two-time UIC graduate, published her first book in the Fall of 2020. Dr. Hellwig earned a MUPP in 1978 from the College of Urban Planning and Public Affairs and PhD in 1993 from the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. Her book titled A Neighbor Among Neighbors: Erie Neighborhood House, 150 Years as a Home With No Borders is the story of a settlement house located on the near northwest side of Chicago.
